Rebuilding after tragic circumstances means thoughtful and purposeful collecting with careful consideration. We worked with our friend, actress Emily Procter on a set of special pieces that commemorates what was lost in the 2025 LA fires but also her strength to keep moving forward. Jewelry that holds meaning is the cornerstone of what we provide at Broken English and here are some of our favorite pieces that make for heirlooms and treasured items with a designated sentiment behind each one.
From Emily on her custom pieces: “Jewelry for many of us is a wearable memory. These stones were found in the ash of our home melted into my jewelry box. Some were pristine, some charred but each of them recognizable to me as they were before the fire: a bracelet, the face of a watch, my grandmother's peacock pin. Laura and I knew each other before she opened Broken English and many of my life's big events were marked by things that came through her. There wasn't any sort of vision for what to do with these stones but rather the desire to make something from them with Laura.”
