Fashion Director Nicole Chapoteau
Veteran fashion director and stylist Nicole Chapoteau is no stranger to incredible jewelry and the proof is in the pages of magazines she’s edited at Vanity Fair and Allure. Her own personal jewelry style is a mix of girly elements and classic yellow gold, all with an edginess that a seasoned fashion editor knows how to balance. Discover some of her favorite pieces from our latest offerings at Broken English (and her inspiration behind each choice!) below.
What kind of jewelry vibe are you especially loving right now and why?
I always gravitate towards yellow gold for both me to wear personally and as an editor. Pearls are always a timeless favorite, especially done in more modern ways like Hirotaka’s pearl pieces. Pearls also happen to be my birthstone! I am loving opals and moonstones (another June birthstone) too at the moment
How are you styling some of these jewels personally?
I’m always a fan of mixing super girly and whimsical pieces with bold proportions and something with an edge. The juxtaposition always makes for a really playful and editorial look.
Are there some trends for summer you’re really into right now?
For summer jewels I love mixing in natural elements like shells and wood because I’m such a hippie at heart. Beaded necklaces are a must to mix in among my everyday go-to chains for my yearly vacation to Italy or weekends at the beach.
